Mobileye (NASDAQ:MBLY) shares moved higher following news that a top‑10 US automaker has chosen the company’s next-generation EyeQ6H chip and Surround ADAS driver-assistance system for millions of future vehicles.
The automaker plans to equip a wide range of mainstream and premium models with Surround ADAS as standard, enabling hands-free, “eyes-on” highway driving and advanced safety features.
The deal alone accounts for approximately 9 million EyeQ6H-based systems, boosting Mobileye’s overall delivery outlook to more than 19 million units, including existing programs such as those with Volkswagen Group.
“This selection of Mobileye Surround ADAS by one of the world’s great automakers reflects the power of our approach to democratizing safety and technology,” Mobileye CEO Amnon Shashua said in a statement.
“Leveraging the EyeQ6H as a powerful central processor for ADAS enables better performance, increased features and greater flexibility to automakers and their customers, all at a lower cost.”
Mobileye’s Surround ADAS integrates up to 11 sensors, including cameras and radars, on a single chip and ECU, allowing automakers to consolidate multiple safety and convenience functions while reducing costs.
The system supports hands-free driving in designated conditions at speeds up to 81 mph (130 kph), with features such as automated lane changes, highway traffic jam assist, blind spot detection, pedestrian monitoring, and optional automated parking.
The technology leverages Mobileye’s REM crowdsourced mapping data, covering nearly all US and European highways and arterial roads, as well as key Asian markets. It also supports over-the-air software updates and cybersecurity protections, aligning with the growing trend toward software-defined vehicles.
Shares of Mobileye were up 3.7% at $11.65 late morning on Monday.
