Astrid Intelligence is focusing on being an active operator after 'significant turnaround'

Astrid Intelligence PLC (AQSE:ASTR) has issued an operational update covering its decentralised AI infrastructure activities within the Bittensor ecosystem.

The company said it is focused on owning, operating and developing decentralised AI infrastructure. It said it is not pursuing a passive asset investment strategy and is not an investment company.

Chief strategy officer Siam Kidd said: "Astrid has completed a significant turnaround and is now focused on execution as an active operator within decentralised AI infrastructure.

"Supported by a robust financial position, we have clear plans to grow our operations across the Bittensor ecosystem with the aim of building a scalable and revenue-generating infrastructure. We look forward to updating shareholders with further news flow in the near term as we continue to deliver on this strategy."

Astrid owns and operates Subnet 127 in the Bittensor network, now branded Astrid Arena. It said running a Bittensor subnet requires continuous technical oversight. It also cited validator coordination, incentive calibration and active participation in network governance.

The company noted that it has entered into a number of bilateral arrangements with other subnet operators across the Bittensor ecosystem. It said the arrangements aim to secure long-term participation rights and support subnet development. It also said they are intended to enable Astrid to operate validators and other protocol-level infrastructure across multiple networks.

It is expanding validator operations across multiple Bittensor subnets. It said it is also evaluating opportunities to acquire and operate decentralised infrastructure components. It referenced protocol tooling and cross-network connectivity services as examples.

Astrid said it is also developing Astrid Vault, described as 'protocol-native infrastructure' intended to facilitate liquidity coordination within the Bittensor ecosystem using transparent, rules-based and time-locked mechanisms. The company said it intends to commit its own subnet emissions alongside third-party participants.

Astrid noted that capital raised by the company is being deployed to expand operational capacity, fund infrastructure development and secure participation rights within decentralised AI networks. It added that where required for operational purposes, fiat capital is converted into relevant network tokens as a functional input to infrastructure activities.
