East Star Resources unearths more zinc and copper at Verkhuba

East Star Resources Plc (LSE:EST) has reported results from a drilling programme completed at the Verkhuba copper deposit in Kazakhstan, where it tested deeper mineralisation defined by historical drilling and shallow areas outside the 2024 resource model.

The company said the drilling intersected multiple intervals of zinc and copper mineralisation at depth and identified additional shallow mineralisation. The results also confirmed the thickness of ore bodies in the central part of the deposit and provided new geological and structural information.

“We intersected mineralisation at depth and an additional shallower ore lens, while also finding a continuation of the shallow mineralisation to the north,” said chief executive Alex Walker.

He added that the results helped confirm the area of study for 2026 with joint venture partner Hong Kong Xinhai Mining Services Limited.
