Phunware Inc (NASDAQ:PHUN) announced that it has elected Ed Lu to its board of directors following the company’s annual meeting of stockholders held on December 17.
The Austin, Texas-based enterprise mobile cloud platform company said Lu joins the board as an independent director.
Phunware also announced the re-election of interim CEO Jeremy Krol to the board, after he initially joined in October 2025.
Lu brings more than a decade of financial and operational leadership experience, including service as chief financial officer and in similar senior roles at venture capital- and private equity-backed companies, according to Phunware.
His background includes finance, accounting, risk management, corporate development, and capital markets.
Lu currently serves as chief financial officer and chief operating officer of Fandom, where he has overseen financial planning, accounting, and corporate development functions since joining the company in October 2018.
His prior experience also includes serving as a director of Outpost Games, as well as acting as a board and strategic advisor to several early- and mid-stage companies.
“Ed brings a strong background in finance and operations, and expertise in guiding technology companies through periods of strategic and financial transformation, to our board of directors,” Phunware board chairperson Elliot Han said in a statement.
“We welcome him to the Board and look forward to his insights and contributions to help create sustainable, long-term value for Phunware and its shareholders.”
