Lithium stocks extended their year-end rally on Wednesday after prices for the battery material climbed to their highest level since November 2023.
Spodumene — the lithium-bearing ore mined in Australia — rose 7% to $US1,535 a tonne on Tuesday, according to S&P Global Platts.
Liontown Resources gained 2.8% to $1.64, while PLS added 1.1% to $4.16 and IGO rose 0.9% to $7.99 in Wednesday morning trade. All 3 stocks have at least doubled over the past 6 months.
