Aptamer shares strengthen on contract win

Aptamer Group Plc (LSE:APTA) has entered into a licensing agreement with Alphazyme LLC, for the use of the firm's enzyme-modulating Optimer binder in hot-start PCR and next-generation sequencing applications.

The licence is non-exclusive and global, and includes royalty payments on product sales, milestone payments, and manufacturing revenues.

The deal follows a successful development partnership that began in June 2024, with Alphazyme confirming positive test results for the Optimer, which enables temperature-sensitive enzyme control. Aptamer will also manufacture the binder for Alphazyme, providing a supply chain benefit.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of this licensing agreement with Alphazyme,” said chief executive Dr Arron Tolley.

“This second enzyme modulation licensing agreement validates both the technical performance and commercial appeal of Optimer technology in the molecular biology market”.

In London, Aptamer shares climbed 4.7% changing hands at 0.84p.
