Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd (TSX-V:GMG, OTCQX:GMGMF) said on Monday it has received the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) consent notice approval conditions for its THERMAL-XR ENHANCE graphene coating.
The approval under the EPA’s Pre-Manufacture Notice program allows GMG to bring its product to market in the US, which the company said could offer energy savings and improved corrosion resistance for consumers and businesses.
The first shipment of THERMAL-XR ENHANCE is set to be sent to Nu-Calgon, a US-based distributor, and will be resold as "Nu-Calgon CoolWorx powered by GMG Graphene" once the fully signed consent notice is received, expected early next year.
Craig Nicol, GMG’s CEO, described the approval as “a very significant milestone for the GMG business – to now get approval conditions to sell into the largest HVAC coating market in the world – the United States – through our distributor and partner Nu-Calgon.”
Jack Perkowski, GMG’s chairman, added that the approval caps two years of progress with Nu-Calgon through the EPA process, and underscored the US as “a big market for air conditioning coatings.”
The Canadian-based company is focused on commercialising its graphene-based coatings, with the US approval seen as a critical step in expanding its market reach.
