Enwell Energy Plc (AIM: ENW) shares fell 21% in Monday morning's dealing after the company reported that its gas processing facilities at its Vasyschevskoye (VAS) gas and condensate field in Ukraine was the subject of an attack by Russian military drones.
The attack took place on the evening of 18 December, the company said. The gas processing facilities were hit by several military drones, which resulted in significant damage to the facilities, it detailed.
The VAS facilities had been mothballed since the reinstatement of the suspension of the VAS production licence in February, and, consequently, there were no active field operations at the field. There were only security staff on site, the company said there were no casualties as a result of the attack.
Enwell said the emergency services have completed their inspection of the site for unexploded ordnance, and the group has begun assessing the damage to enable a plan for the repair and restoration of the facilities.
In London, the shares were down 21% changing hands at 16.5p.
