BlackBerry posts strong Q3 earnings, stock slides on cautious guidance

Blackberry (TSX:BB) reported third quarter fiscal 2026 results on Friday, posting earnings and revenue above analyst expectations, but shares fell about 10% as investors focused on guidance and near-term outlook.

For the quarter ended November 30, 2025, the company reported non-GAAP earnings per share of $0.05, ahead of the Wall Street consensus of $0.04.

Total revenue was approximately $141.8 million, a modest 2% beat versus expectations and ahead of estimates of $135.6 million.

Management highlighted record revenue from its QNX division, which reached $68.7 million, up 10% year-over-year, and noted strong performance in the Secure Communications segment. GAAP profitability and cash flow also reached their highest levels in nearly four years.

“BlackBerry delivered revenue above the top end of the previously-provided guidance range, which, coupled with ongoing cost discipline, helped the company achieve its strongest quarter of GAAP profitability in almost four years, along with increased operating cash flow,” BlackBerry CEO John Giamatteo said in a statement.

For fiscal Q4, BlackBerry expects revenue of $138 million to $148 million, implying modest sequential growth.

Management cited potential headwinds, including auto tariffs, slower customer decisions, and supply-chain risks, signaling a cautious near-term outlook for QNX.
