Active Energy Group PLC (AIM:AEG, OTCQB:ATGVF) has given investors an update on the commercial deployment of its CoalSwitch technology following management engagement in Poland.
The visit focused on progressing discussions with Indigenous Canadian Energy and assessing deployment opportunities within the municipal combined heat and power sector.
The company said it met with senior management of a privatised municipal CHP operator supplying around 40% of the city’s district heating requirements. The operator invited ICE, in partnership with Active Energy, to locate the first CoalSwitch validation plant within an existing industrial building adjacent to its CHP boilers.
“The Poland visit was an important step in demonstrating how AEG is actively seeking to maximise value from CoalSwitch," said executive director Paul Elliott.
He added: “Seeing the technology positioned within a live municipal CHP environment reinforced our belief that there is a compelling long-term opportunity to be developed.”
Active Energy said the validation plant has already been procured and is expected to become operational within approximately six months. The facility is intended to generate performance data and act as a reference site for future commercial deployment.
