Great Southern Copper kicks off new survey at Viuda gold-copper prospect

Great Southern Copper PLC (LSE:GSCU) has begun a ground magnetics survey at the Viuda gold-copper prospect within its Especularita project in Chile.

The survey is designed to support exploration targeting Maricunga-style porphyry gold-copper deposits.

The exploration company said the programme comprises a 250 line-kilometre survey with east-west oriented grid lines and 50 metre spacing. The work is being carried out by Southern Geophysics and covers the full extent of the clay-altered zone that defines the Viuda prospect.

“This ground magnetics survey is planned to identify potential magnetic intrusives that will assist the company in vectoring its next phase of drilling at Viuda.” He added that the next phase of drilling is anticipated to commence in the first quarter of 2026," chief executive Sam Garrett said.

Great Southern Copper said previous scout drilling at Viuda intersected broad zones of gold and copper mineralisation hosted within porphyry intrusives. The company has the option to earn a 100% interest in the Viuda prospect and expects results from the magnetics survey to inform future drilling plans.
