Surefire Resources NL (ASX:SRN) has reported new 1-metre assay results from reverse circulation (RC) drilling at its 100%-owned Yidby Gold Project in Western Australia, with results extending both the width and grade profile of mineralisation at the Yidby Prospect.

The latest 1m assays were selected for re-assay after earlier 4m composite results highlighted broad mineralised intervals. The tighter sampling was designed to better define grade distribution, confirm higher-grade zones and improve geological interpretation of the mineralised system.
“These assay results highlight the potential of the Yidby Gold Project. With gold prices above AU$6,000 per ounce the company’s shallow mineralised project, which is readily accessible via road a mere 3.5 hours northwest of Perth, has the potential to be a near-term production play that could create significant cash flow for the company. Follow-up drilling in Q1 2026 will add to the company’s understanding of the project before we embark on feasibility studies to bring the project into production,” Surefire Resources executive chairman Vladimir Nikolaenko said.
Key drill results
The standout result came from RC hole YBRC136, which returned a 108m mineralised envelope grading 0.61 g/t gold from 71m, representing the broadest intersection reported to date at Yidby.
Within this broad zone, Surefire identified a higher-grade core of 35m at 1.35 g/t gold from 71m, including 1m at 15.83 g/t from 80m and 2m at 10.72 g/t from 100m. A second mineralised interval deeper in the same hole returned 6m at 4.29 g/t gold from 177m, including 2m at 12.54 g/t from 177m, reinforcing the presence of high-grade shoots at depth.

Other notable results included 12m at 1.01 g/t gold from 164m in YBRC137, including 4m at 1.62 g/t from 164m. Additional intercepts reported across the program included 33m at 0.60 g/t from 148m in YBRC140, 10m at 0.49 g/t from 55m in YBRC141 and 3m at 0.74 g/t from 25m in YBRC138.

Geological setting and interpretation
The Yidby Gold Project is located at the southern end of the Yalgoo–Singleton Greenstone Belt within the Murchison Domain of the Youanmi Terrane, an established mineral province hosting numerous gold and base metal deposits.
At the prospect scale, mineralisation at Yidby is interpreted to be structurally controlled along a northwest-trending system associated with a folded banded iron formation (BIF) antiform. The company said the 1-metre assay results confirm the zonal nature of mineralisation, with broad lower-grade envelopes hosting discrete, higher-grade shoots.
Updated geological modelling indicates the mineralised envelope is plunging to the northwest and remains open both along strike and at depth. Surefire said the deeper high-grade intercepts, particularly those returned in YBRC136, support a down-plunge continuation of the system and highlight the potential for additional repetitions of mineralisation below current drilling.
Next steps
Based on the updated interpretation, Surefire has identified new priority target areas and is planning a follow-up drill program in Q1 2026 to test extensions of the Yidby system and newly generated targets.
