International Graphite Ltd (ASX:IG6) has received Development Approval (DA) for its proposed downstream graphite processing facility in Collie, Western Australia.
The approval is a further step in the company’s plan to establish an integrated graphite production capability in Western Australia.
Builder Prosser Built is working with International Graphite’s equipment providers, designers and specialist consultants to finalise architectural designs and engineering drawings required to secure building permits.
LOI flags potential European graphite purification pathway
It has been a big week for IG6, after it also signed a non-binding letter of intent (LOI) with Italian chemicals group Alkeemia S.p.A for toll-treatment graphite purification services.
Alkeemia, a major European producer of hydrofluoric acid and fluoroderivatives from its Port Marghera operations in Venice, plans to commission a 200 t/y industrial graphite purification plant in Q1 2026.

Under the LOI, International Graphite has been allocated up to 50% of the plant’s start-up processing capacity, with the potential to increase volumes as Alkeemia progresses towards nameplate output. Alkeemia is targeting a staged expansion of graphite purification capacity to 20,000 t/y by 2030.
Managing director and CEO Andrew Worland said the proposed partnership could support the company’s development strategy, particularly by providing access to graphite purification capacity in Europe.
