Vodafone Group PLC (LSE:VOD) has completed the acquisition of Skaylink for €175 million, the company announced on Wednesday.
The deal, first announced in October, is intended to accelerate the expansion of Vodafone Business in professional and managed services, cloud, and security markets across Germany and Europe.
Employing more than 500 staff across Europe and Germany, Skaylink provides full-service cloud, digital transformation and security services, with expertise in Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, as well as the implementation of AI solutions for business clients.
Vodafone said the acquisition will enhance its digital services portfolio for business and public sector customers.
It follows some other acquisitive activity from the group in recent months, following the completed merger of its UK arm and Three UK in June.
Earlier in December, €1.8 billion was spent to increase the stake in Safaricom, Kenya’s biggest telecoms group, held by Vodafone and Vodacom to a combined 55%, allowing both companies to fully consolidate Safaricom’s results.
In September, Vodafone expanded its presence in Romania with a €30 million deal to buy Telekom Romania Mobile's post-paid customer base and key infrastructure assets.
