Seeing Machines launches series of papers examining driver safety

Seeing Machines Ltd (AIM:SEE, OTC:SEEMF) has launched a new technical paper series on non-fatigue driver impairment, beginning with the impact of alcohol.

The company said its research supports the use of in-vehicle Driver Monitoring System (DMS) technology to detect real-time functional impairment.

The initiative aims to improve road safety by addressing limitations of blood alcohol concentration as the sole measure. Seeing Machines is developing systems that respond to the real-time evolution of intoxication, including both rising and falling phases.

"Roadside alcohol testing has delivered great reductions in road injury over many years. Our goal is to complement these existing roadside programs by leading the introduction of in-vehicle approaches," said Dr Mike Lenné, Chief Safety Officer.
