International Graphite Ltd managing director and CEO Andrew Worland talked with Proactive about the company’s newly announced non-binding letter of intent with Italian chemicals group Alkeemia S.p.A. The agreement outlines plans for graphite toll treatment and purification services that could play a major role in International Graphite’s development strategy.
Worland said the partnership could allow the company to access a proven purification method without incurring the significant upfront capital costs typically associated with building in-house capacity. “
Alkeemia is constructing a pilot plant capable of processing 200 tonnes per annum, with plans to scale to 1,000 tonnes. International Graphite intends to supply graphite concentrates for test work, including material from its Springdale project and other sources.
