Elixir Energy Ltd (ASX:EXR, OTC:ELXPF) has entered an agreement with QGC Pty Limited (QGC) to support its entry into ATP2077 Block A (100% Elixir) and the acquisition of 3D seismic data.
Under the arrangement, Elixir will receive processed 3D seismic data covering Block A, along with data from a reciprocal area extending from the shared boundary between QGC’s ATP645 and Elixir’s ATP2077, to 2 km into ATP645. In exchange for the upfront geophysical data, Elixir will provide QGC with information and logs from the planned Daydream-3 well.
“The acquisition and sharing of this data set over Elixir’s Block-A on the western flank of the Taroom Trough by QGC will assist in de-risking the future Daydream-3 appraisal well location in the north-west of the permit which contains 184 BCFe of 2C Contingent Gas Resources,” Elixir Energy managing director and CEO Stuart Nicholls said.

The Taroom Trough is considered geologically analogous to Canada’s Montney Formation and is located close to the Wallumbilla Gas Hub, multiple gas pipelines, and around 25 mtpa of LNG export capacity. The area also sits near refineries and within Queensland’s established onshore gas industry.
Elixir is working to appraise its approximately 2.8 TCF of independently certified 2C contingent gas resources, which border QGC’s main area of investment across the basin-centred gas play.
