European Lithium Ltd (ASX:EUR, OTCQB:EULIF) has released final 2024 diamond drilling results from the Fjord area of the Tanbreez Rare Earth Project in southern Greenland, confirming consistent rare earth grades and broad, near-surface mineralised zones.
Project Summary Plan (WGS84 zone 23N).
Consistent TREOY grades with strong heavy rare earth component
The 2024 program at Fjord returned total rare earth oxides plus yttrium (TREOY) grades ranging from 0.39% to 0.54%, with heavy rare earth oxides (HREO) making up 25–27% of TREO across the campaign. Weighted averages across all drill holes include:
- 0.44% TREOY
- 0.12% HREO
- 1.74% ZrO₂ (zirconium)
- 1,396 ppm Nb₂O₅ (niobium)
- 120 ppm Ta₂O₅ (tantalum)
The results indicate consistent distribution of strategic metals such as gallium (~96–97 ppm), hafnium (~355 ppm), cerium (~1,638 ppm) and yttrium (~708 ppm), supporting the project’s multi-commodity potential.
Thick mineralised intercepts from surface
The 2024 drilling comprised 13 diamond holes for 1,149.5 metres, drilled predominantly vertically to intersect the gently dipping layered kakortokite unit at close to true thickness. All holes encountered mineralisation from surface.
Notable intercepts include:
- 203.2 m at 0.48% TREOY (27% HREO) in hole K-24
- 65.3 m at 0.54% TREOY (27% HREO) in hole C-24
- 63.7 m at 0.56% TREOY (27% HREO) in hole X-24
- Multiple broad zones between 40 m and 98 m grading 0.35–0.51% TREOY
2024 Diamond Drilling Resource Confirmation (Fjord Area) (WGS84 zone 23N).
The company reports strong grade and thickness consistency across strike and down-dip, increasing confidence in geological and grade continuity within the Fjord area. The interpreted kakortokite unit extends across roughly 5km by 2.5km and reaches up to 350 metres thick.
Resource update underway
The 2024 drilling dataset will contribute to an updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) once 2025 drilling results from the northern extension of the Fjord deposit are incorporated. Planning is already progressing for a 2026 field season.
European Lithium says the new information supports potential expansion of the Tanbreez resource base and will feed into future mine planning studies. The results do not constitute a new MRE and do not change current classifications.
Exposure via Critical Metals stake
Tanbreez is 100% owned by Tanbreez Mining A/S, in which Nasdaq-listed Critical Metals Corp (CRML) holds an interest. European Lithium owns 53,036,338 Critical Metals shares, equivalent to 44.982% of the company.
Based on Critical Metals’ closing price of US$9.75 on December 8, 2025, the stake was valued at approximately US$517.1 million (A$780.7 million), subject to movements in the CRML share price.
