Askari Metals Executive Director and CEO Gino D'Anna talked with Proactive about recent developments on the ground in Ethiopia and what shareholders can expect in early 2026.
D'Anna reported positive meetings with both federal and regional government officials, noting the importance of these engagements. “Askari’s been able to walk away from those meetings knowing that it's got full operational and administrative support,” he said.
The company's Phase 1 drilling campaign will begin early in the new year, initially targeting the Komto 1 and Komto 2 zones within the mineralised corridor at Nejo. Askari will focus on validating historical drill hits and extending known mineralised zones. In parallel, the team will carry out further exploration on parallel structures and high-grade copper targets at the Katta zone.
D'Anna emphasised that “drilling at Nejo… is going to be quite a significant value changer,” with workstreams including trenching, geophysics, and drilling all set to commence in the first quarter.
He also confirmed that the company will recommence work at the Uis tin project in Namibia. With tin prices remaining high, Askari sees further development at Uis as a strategic opportunity.
