ITM Power up after winning more international contracts

ITM Power PLC (AIM:ITM) said it has secured two engineering contracts with a combined capacity of 70 MW, sending its shares up 6% to 66.3p.

The first award is a basic design engineering package for an industrial customer in Australia, deploying multiple units of its Neptune V containerised green hydrogen plant.

The second is a front-end engineering design contract for a Canadian project that will use hydroelectric power to produce hydrogen for transport, again stored in a Neptune V plant.

ITM highlighted growing international interest in the technology as it expands into new markets, with last month seeing the company selected by Stablegrid Group to supply technology for two energy infrastructure projects in Germany.

The projects will use electrolysers to support grid balancing by converting surplus renewable power into hydrogen stored in underground caverns.

Chief executive Dennis Schulz said: “We are excited to be working with our customers on these projects, and to advance the deployment of our NEPTUNE V product into the Australian and Canadian markets.”
