Orthocell Ltd (ASX:OCC, OTC:ORHHF) earlier this week confirmed it has completed its first commercial sale of Remplir in Hong Kong, marking a significant milestone in the company’s Asia-Pacific expansion strategy.
The company told investors that Hong Kong is its first active commercial market in Asia, following regulatory approvals in Singapore, Thailand, and Hong Kong itself. It said the city acts as a strategic entry point into the broader Greater Bay Area, a region encompassing over 100 million people.
CEO Paul Anderson said the transaction marks the beginning of a larger commercial push across the region. Orthocell has appointed a new Asia-Pacific Commercial Director with over 20 years of experience across multiple countries including Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Anderson said the internal relationships of both himself and Chief Scientific Officer Professor Ming — a recognised clinician in Hong Kong — complement the external expertise being brought into the company.
The company added that it will commence in-market activity in Q1, working closely with local distributor MontsMed. It said the distributor offers access to key surgical and hospital networks and carries products that are complementary to Remplir.

Welcome back to Proactive Newsroom. I'm now joined by Orthocell Managing Director and CEO Paul Anderson. Paul, it's good to see you again.
Paul Anderson:
Yeah, thanks for having me.
Proactive:
Today is quite a stepping stone for Orthocell in Asia. You've now completed your first commercial sale in Hong Kong. How important is this?
Paul Anderson:
It’s a really important step forward for us in the Asian markets. We've seen approvals in Singapore, Thailand, and now Hong Kong. We're very excited to translate that approval in Hong Kong into our first sales and usage just five months later. It’s the beginning of a really exciting journey in the Asian hub.
Proactive:
Speaking of this Asian hub — how big is the market in Hong Kong for context?
Paul Anderson:
Hong Kong itself has a population of around 7.5 to 8 million people. But strategically, it gives us access to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area — a region of over 100 million people. So Hong Kong is a key entry point into that broader market, which makes it a very important focus for us.
Proactive:
How will you penetrate the market effectively on the ground — through hospitals and surgeons?
Paul Anderson:
We're taking a couple of approaches. First, we’ve brought in talent with deep experience in Asia. We’ve recently appointed an Asia-Pacific Commercial Director who has more than 20 years’ experience in Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, and more.
That’s complemented by the relationships that both myself and Professor Ming, our Chief Scientific Officer, have in Hong Kong. He’s a widely respected clinician and researcher in the region. So we’re combining both internal and external expertise to make our entry as effective as possible.
Proactive:
All of this support is in preparation to commence in-market activities across Asia in Q1. How will that take shape?
Paul Anderson:
We’ve appointed MontsMed as our distributor. They’re very experienced, with strong relationships and complementary products. Our new Commercial Director will spend significant time in Hong Kong, working closely with MontsMed, hospitals, and surgeons in the region to support adoption of Remplir.
Proactive:
Orthocell Managing Director and CEO Paul Anderson — great having you back. Thank you.
Paul Anderson:
Thanks for having me, as always. Cheers.
