Lightning Minerals Managing Director and CEO Alex Biggs talked with Proactive about the company’s newly announced strategy for a Phase 2 drilling program at the Mount Turner gold project in Queensland, Australia.
Biggs confirmed the program is scheduled to begin in Q1 2026, following a strong Phase 1 campaign that wrapped up in November 2025. He said, “I’m the guy that builds off the back of our success in Phase One... and we’ve seen some really good gold.”
The upcoming Phase 2 program will significantly scale up drilling activity, increasing from 1,000 metres of diamond drilling in Phase 1 to an estimated 7,000 metres of RC and diamond drilling. Biggs noted that this expanded program will include new target zones such as the Isis prospect, where a 21.9 grams per tonne gold rock chip sample was identified, as well as a copper-gold-molybdenum porphyry target.
“There’ll be more metres. I think that’s key,” Biggs said. “We want results like we had last time and to keep improving.” He also confirmed the campaign is fully funded, with a steady flow of updates expected as work progresses.
Investors can expect news flow beginning in Q1 2026, including soil sampling, target refinement, and ongoing drill updates.
