Atomic Eagle Ltd (ASX:AEU) has appointed its corporate development manager, Phil Hoskins, as chief executive officer, effective immediately. Hoskins brings more than 15 years’ experience as an ASX mining executive across exploration, development and operations, including roles as managing director and chief financial officer. He previously spent 10 years leading an African critical minerals project from greenfields exploration through feasibility studies, permitting and financing.
Hoskins holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and is a Chartered Accountant.
The appointment follows the decision by Daniel Major not to start as CEO for personal reasons after a period of personal leave.
The board expressed its gratitude to Major for his contribution to the company’s predecessor, GoviEx Uranium Inc, and wished him well in his future endeavours.
“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Daniel for his efforts at GoviEx over the past 13 years," chairman Govind Friedland said. "We are confident that Phil will provide continuity and strong leadership moving forward and we look forward to working closely with him to rapidly expand the existing Mineral Resource across the company’s expansive Muntanga Uranium Project area.”
Shallow uranium mineralisation
Meanwhile, Atomic Eagle has returned broad zones of shallow uranium mineralisation from its maiden drill program at the Chisebuka target, part of the Muntanga Uranium Project in Zambia. The results confirm thick, near-surface mineralisation across a 3.5-by-1.2 km target area.

Initial drilling at Chisebuka — the first substantial program at the target in more than 15 years — defined flat-lying to gently southeast-dipping uranium horizons starting close to surface. Notable downhole gamma equivalent uranium (eU₃O₈) intersections include:
- 16.4m at 1,036 ppm eU₃O₈ from 13.5m, including 2.3m at 2,879 ppm from 21.0m and 6.5m at 298 ppm from 31.1m (CHDTH2153)
- 29.4m at 439 ppm eU₃O₈ from 32.2m, including 1.0m at 2,143 ppm from 36.0m and 1.0m at 3,040 ppm from 53.9m (CHDTH2163)
- 43.6m at 215 ppm eU₃O₈ from 30.7m, including 2.5m at 883 ppm from 28.5m (CHDTH2161)
Additional significant intercepts from recent holes across the target further demonstrate the continuity of the mineralised lenses.
