Hercules PLC (LSE:HERC) shares climbed 12% to 45.79p on Monday after the company announced another wave of water-sector contract wins worth about £6.2 million.
The bulk of the work, around £4.2 million, comes from Thames Water, with the remainder tied to projects in the Anglian Water region. The jobs, due to begin in the first quarter of Hercules’ 2026 financial year, will run for roughly six months and involve labour supply and project-delivery support for upgrades at clean and wastewater treatment sites.
The new agreements build on a £6.5 million set of wins announced in September and point to a deepening pipeline as the industry enters AMP8, the latest five-year investment cycle.
Ofwat has allocated more than £104 billion for environmental improvements, pollution-reduction measures and infrastructure renewal between 2025 and 2030, the largest spending programme the sector has seen. That scale of commitment is expected to fuel sustained demand for contractors such as Hercules.
The group already works across most major water regions, including Southern Water, Severn Trent, United Utilities and Yorkshire Water, and said it expects further opportunities as AMP8 ramps up.
Chief executive Brusk Korkmaz said the latest deals highlight the company’s strengthening position as utilities push ahead with long-planned upgrades.
