Hercules PLC (LSE:HERC) has picked up a fresh round of contract wins worth about £6.2 million, strengthening its foothold in a UK water industry entering its busiest investment phase in decades.
The work, due to start in the first quarter of the company’s 2026 financial year, will be delivered over the next six months by its Civils Projects division.
The awards cover two regions: roughly £4.2 million of work in the Thames Water area and about £2 million in the Anglian Water region. The projects involve labour supply and delivery support for upgrades and capacity increases at clean and wastewater treatment sites.
Hercules’ clients are carrying out improvements to ageing infrastructure and preparing for rising demand, with the company responsible for managing and delivering specific sub-contract packages.
The announcement follows September’s £6.5 million of water-sector wins and reflects a pipeline that has expanded since the April launch of AMP8, the current five-year investment cycle overseen by Ofwat.
Regulators have committed more than £104 billion across the period to environmental upgrades, pollution reduction, and resilience projects. It is the sector’s largest capital programme on record and is expected to result in steady demand for specialist contractors.
Hercules supplies labour and project-delivery services to contractors across all major UK water regions, including Southern Water, Wessex Water, Severn Trent, United Utilities, Welsh Water and Yorkshire Water.
The board said it expects further contract opportunities as AMP8 progresses and spending increases.
