Canadian government relations firm Pathway Group will support the advancement of Critical Resources Ltd (ASX:CRR)'s flagship Mavis Lake Lithium Project in Ontario, Canada. The appointment of Pathway is intended to strengthen the company’s engagement with federal and provincial governments, relevant agencies and key policymakers as it progresses Mavis Lake as part of a potential North American lithium supply chain.
Under the mandate, Pathway Group will provide strategic advice on permitting — including input from a former Ontario Minister of Northern Development and Mines — as well as government funding and financing pathways, commercial and Indigenous partnerships, and measures to lift Critical Resources’ profile in Canada.
Pathway will have several advantages when promoting Mavis Lake:
- Mavis Lake as a North American lithium asset: The project hosts a maiden JORC Inferred Mineral Resource of 8Mt at 1.07% Li₂O, supported by more than 58,000 metres of drilling since 2022 and an established Exploration Target, positioning it for potential future growth.
- Infrastructure advantage: Immediate access to highways, rail and clean hydro-power is expected to support efficient, lower-cost logistics and more sustainable operations, with existing provincial and federal support seen as a driver for project advancement.
The Pathway Group partnership is directed at progressing Mavis Lake as a key contributor to Canada’s and North America’s lithium supply chain, with the company linking this aim to long-term shareholder value and the broader energy transition.
For CRR the partnership will:
- Elevate project profile: Increases Mavis Lake Lithium Project’s visibility and credibility in North American critical minerals initiatives, drawing interest from government, industry, and investors.
- Unlock funding and partnerships: Increases the likelihood of securing non-dilutive government funding, grants, and strategic commercial partnerships, supporting growth and minimising shareholder dilution.
- Strengthen strategic positioning: Positions Mavis Lake at the forefront of a secure North American lithium supply chain, aligned with government priorities for energy transition and resource security.
- Build broad-based support: Expand national and international backing for the development of Mavis Lake’s lithium resource and CRR’s broader critical minerals portfolio, including strong Indigenous and community relationships.
- Drive long-term value: Directly supports the company’s objective to establish Mavis Lake as a long-term, strategic lithium source for North America, underpinning sustainable value creation opportunity for shareholders.
