American Rare Earths names Mark Wall as CEO to steer US growth phase

American Rare Earths Ltd (ASX:ARR, OTCQB:ARRNF) has appointed mining executive Mark Wall as chief executive officer, effective January 5, 2026.

Wall has more than 30 years of international mining experience spanning operations, project development, permitting and construction across gold, copper, diamonds and uranium. His career includes senior roles with Tier 1 global miners and North American developers, with a particular focus on taking complex projects from studies through financing, construction and ramp-up.

American Rare Earths says that background is directly aligned with its strategy to evolve from a rare earths explorer into a future US producer.

Chair Richard Hudson said Wall’s combination of Tier 1 mining pedigree, capital markets experience and North American operating background would be central to accelerating the company’s next phase.

“He is exceptionally well placed to drive the company’s transformation and support delivery of long-term value for shareholders as we build a secure US supply of rare earth elements,” Hudson said.

“American Rare Earths is at a genuinely transformative point in its journey. The team has delivered substantial progress at Halleck Creek on resources, metallurgy and permitting, and I see a clear pathway from today’s studies through to demonstration plant, project financing and, ultimately, commercial production. With growing US policy support for domestic critical minerals and our strong position in Wyoming, we have an opportunity to build a long-life, sustainable rare earth business that contributes meaningfully to North American supply chain security,” Wall said.

The board said it believes that Wall’s blend of operational expertise, permitting and construction experience, capital markets engagement and North American critical minerals exposure positions American Rare Earths to deliver on its strategy of becoming a secure, sustainable rare earth supplier to the industries of the future.

Growth strategy

The company’s growth strategy is anchored by its Halleck Creek rare earths project in Wyoming, where recent milestones include a substantially upgraded mineral resource estimate for the Cowboy State Mine, successful impurity removal test work in the processing flowsheet and an expanded relationship with Tetra Tech to advance US funding and permitting pathways.

American Rare Earths is now progressing a pre-feasibility study, planning a demonstration plant and assessing a potential US listing to better align its capital markets footprint with its US-based asset portfolio.

Hudson also acknowledged the contribution of the internal team during the CEO search, noting they had continued to deliver key technical, financial and permitting milestones and strengthened the company’s foundations ahead of Wall’s arrival.

Strategic priorities under Wall’s leadership

Under Mr Wall’s leadership, the company will focus on:

  • Completing the Halleck Creek prefeasibility study, supported by the updated resource and recent flowsheet breakthroughs.
  • Advancing the design and delivery of a demonstration plant to validate the flowsheet at scale and underpin potential offtake discussions.
  • Leveraging the expanded Tetra Tech relationship and US government programs to pursue non-dilutive funding opportunities for critical minerals projects.
  • Preparing for a potential US listing to broaden the investor base and better align with the company's US project footprint.
  • Continuing to assess the La Paz Project in Arizona, Searchlight in Nevada and Beaver Creek in Wyoming.
