Digi Power X Inc (NASDAQ:DGXX, TSX-V:DGX) earlier this week confirmed it has begun deployment of its AI Ready Modular Solutions (ARMS) technology at its Alabama facility.
The company said the move marks the beginning of its transition from Bitcoin mining to tier three data center operations.
ARMS is a proprietary modular data center system, developed in partnership with Super Micro Computer. The company said the system is built within shipping containers and features Supermicro racks housing Nvidia Blackwell 200 chips.
Digi Power X said it has filed a provisional patent for the ARMS technology.
Edward Karr, Capital Markets Advisor, told Proactive that the ARMS system enables faster deployment and scalability compared to traditional hyperscale data centers. “We can transition our power infrastructure assets into a tier three data center and scale up in a much faster timeline than a Hyperscaler ever could,” he said.
The company plans to go live at its Alabama site by the end of 2025. It will start with 1 megawatt of power and expects to scale to 40 megawatts by the end of 2026. Karr said the company aims to onboard tenants in 2026.
Digi Power X highlighted that the ARMS containers will serve both long-term co-location tenants and the company’s Neo Cloud GPU-as-a-service offering.
Beyond Alabama, the company pointed to its other facilities as potential sites for further ARMS deployment. These include its North Tonawanda power plant, which has 120 megawatts of power, and an undeveloped asset in North Carolina.
Karr described the rollout as “really transformative for the company” and said it was an exciting phase in Digi Power X’s development.
