Critical Resources CEO Tim Wither talked with Proactive about the company’s progress across two key exploration fronts: the Cap Burn gold project in New Zealand and the Amoco polymetallic project in New South Wales.
Wither confirmed the full acquisition of the Cap Burn project, describing it as “a key milestone” for Critical Resources. The project sits within the underexplored Otago region, just 11 kilometres from OceanaGold’s 10.1 million-ounce Macraes gold camp. “We’ve secured a significant landholding,” he said, adding the company is now “positioned to hit the ground running”.
Drill rigs are being mobilised immediately. The first phase will target one kilometre of a ten-kilometre strike along the Cap Burn fault structure. The company is focusing on zones with strong historical alluvial gold workings and significant arsenic-soil anomalies.
Wither also provided an update on the Amoco project in New South Wales, where the company completed its first-pass scout drilling. Early assays returned broad mineralisation, including gold, antimony, lead, silver, and copper. “We were able to define a large, broad, arsenic system,” he noted.
Looking ahead, the company is awaiting regulator approval for further drilling and is progressing land access agreements across the Armidale region.
