Valereum targets wider investor base with OTC listing

Valereum PLC (AQSE:VLRM) has reapplied to have its shares cross-traded on the OTCQB market in the United States, a move the board says is central to its push into US capital markets.

The company said approval from OTC Markets Group would allow its stock to be bought and sold in dollars through a broad range of US brokers, making it easier for North American investors to access the shares.

Greater visibility in the US, it said, is a stepping stone towards a potential listing on Nasdaq or the New York Stock Exchange.

The new application follows Valereum’s sale of most of its stake in London BTC Company, a disposal that removes a regulatory barrier under the Investment Company Act of 1940 that had previously prevented the business from qualifying for an OTCQB cross-trade.

Valereum said the move fits into a wider strategic repositioning that includes the establishment of its QGP-SP vehicle and work on a planned $200 million royalty and streaming financing package.

The board described the OTCQB application as evidence of “momentum” behind its US ambitions and said it would update investors as the process advances.
