Digitalbox flags stronger profit as newer titles pick up pace

Digitalbox PLC (AIM:DBOX), the online publisher behind Entertainment Daily and The Daily Mash, has said it expects profit to come in well ahead of forecasts this year after a better-than-expected second half.

The company, which also owns The Poke, The Tab and the listings site TV Guide, told investors that earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (a common measure of operating profit) should be “significantly ahead” of what analysts had pencilled in for 2025, which was around £0.2 million. Revenue is expected to be roughly in line with market estimates of £4.1 million.

Digital publishers have broadly had a difficult run over the past year as advertising budgets fluctuated and social-media referral traffic became harder to rely on. Against that backdrop, the group said trading across its stable of sites had “remained robust” in the second half.

The company pointed to steady performances from its long-established brands, as well as stronger contributions from TV Guide and two newer titles, Reality Shrine and Royal Insider. Those additions, it said, helped lift results beyond what it had anticipated for the full year.

James Carter, the chief executive, said: “We remain confident in the full year outturn, looking at December’s trading. This is at a time that we are continuing to develop the business through launching new products while we remain alive to consolidation and acquisition opportunities that can maximise shareholder value.”

Full-year results are due in March 2026.
