ECS Botanics Ltd (ASX:ECS) is set to introduce AVANI AVA, a new medicinal cannabis brand tailored to women’s health, with the first products scheduled for release in January 2026.
The launch follows a rise in female participation in Australia’s medicinal cannabis market, with women now accounting for more than 40% of approvals under the Special Access Scheme Category B (SAS-B). ECS has developed the AVANI AVA range in response to this trend, drawing on its integrated cultivation, processing and formulation capabilities.
“We’ve developed AVANI AVA to meet a clear need in the market for well-considered, targeted products that address real clinical issues faced by women. This range reflects our commitment to building trusted brands supported by high-quality formulations, and we believe it has strong potential to open new conversations with prescribers and pharmacists focused on women’s health,” ECS Botanics managing director, Nan-Maree Schoerie, said.
Initial product range
The first AVANI AVA products target conditions frequently reported by women under the SAS-B pathway and will be available in multiple delivery formats:
- Pessaries: 5mg THC / 25mg CBD formulation designed for rapid, targeted local delivery in areas of unmet clinical need.
- Flower: 22% THC cultivar selected for its sweet, fruity profile and terpene balance, including limonene and linalool, reflecting prescribing preferences within women’s-health cohorts.
- Topical cream: 200mg THC / 200mg CBD topical preparation with a terpene-influenced aromatic blend for localised application.
- Capsules: Low-dose 5mg THC capsule aimed at controlled delivery in oral formats favoured by prescribers in women’s-health contexts.
Strategic positioning
AVANI AVA expands on the existing Avani product line and forms part of ECS’s strategy to provide differentiated, clinically targeted options across its B2C portfolio. The company expects the new range to strengthen engagement with pharmacists and prescribers focused on women’s health and contribute to growth in domestic and export markets through CY2026.
