Royalty Management Holding Corp (NASDAQ:RMCO) said on Wednesday it will participate in the next funding round for SAGINT, backing the Chicago-based startup’s blockchain platform designed to tokenize and track commodities.
SAGINT, which converts physical assets into secure, tradable digital tokens, has built a system that provides real-time settlement, regulatory compliance and transparent audit trails. The technology aims to give buyers verifiable proof of where materials originate, helping ensure commodities are not sourced from conflict regions or countries of concern.
Royalty Management said it plans to deploy SAGINT’s tokenization and source-tracking tools across its portfolio companies, allowing them to differentiate their operations and offer enhanced transparency to customers.
The initial focus will be on critical and rare earth minerals, according to a statement from the company.
“With the increased attention and investment into rare earth minerals and other critical elements produced outside of China, certain users of these elements have been seeking a way to verify that they have not been produced in China or some other country of concern,” CEO Thomas Sauve said. “The tokenization that SAGINT has developed provides a much-needed solution to allow traceability of elements from the source.”
SAGINT CEO Jacob Clayton said the partnership aligns with both companies’ focus on building value in the critical minerals sector. “This partnership reflects a shared commitment to innovation and long-term value creation in the critical minerals and resource sectors,” he said.
Royalty Management said its investment will be made alongside other private equity backers and remains subject to due diligence, with completion expected in early 2026.
