Ariana Resources PLC (AIM:AAU, ASX:AA2) shares advanced on Wednesday, as the mining firm reported its first gold-silver doré pour at the Tavşan Mine in western Türkiye.
The company said the initial bar weighed 13.4kg, marking the start of production at the heap-leach operation, which Ariana owns through its 23.5% interest in Zenit Madencilik.
The heap-leach pad has been loaded with about 30,000 tonnes of ore, with a further 800,000 tonnes stockpiled for future processing. To date, 1.3 million tonnes of ore at an average grade of 1.38 eight grams per tonne gold and 5.77 grams per tonne silver have been mined. High-grade material continues to be treated at the Kiziltepe CIL plant.
“We are delighted that Zenit has achieved its first doré pour at Tavşan, with gold and silver production commencing from the new heap-leach operation,” said Dr. Kerim Sener, Managing Director.
Ariana said production is expected to ramp up through the coming months, reaching steady-state output by the second quarter of 2026.
In London, Ariana shares were up around 9% changing hands at 1.58p each.
