First Mining Gold eyes EA approval in 2026 - Resourcing Tomorrow 2025

First Mining Gold Corp. (TSX:FF, OTCQX:FFMGF) CEO Dan Wilton talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company’s presence at the Resourcing Tomorrow 2025 conference and its major catalysts heading into 2026. Wilton outlined First Mining Gold’s key assets, highlighting the Springpole and Cameron gold projects as central to its growth strategy.

Wilton explained that the Springpole Gold Project is approaching the final stage of its environmental assessment process in Canada, with approval targeted in the first half of 2026. “We’re at the tail end of that EA process, which in Canada is exhaustive and exhausting,” he said, noting the significant milestone this represents for the company.

He also discussed the recently updated pre-feasibility study for Springpole, which showed the project’s net present value more than doubling to $2.1 billion, despite cost increases since the previous 2021 study. “The gold price had more than made up for that,” Wilton noted, referencing a base case price of $3,100 per ounce.

On the Cameron project, Wilton described a new partnership with the Fiore Group and Shawn Khunkhun, which sees the asset transferred into a new company with $15 million in funding to advance development, while First Mining Gold retains a majority stake.

Wilton concluded by pointing to 2026 catalysts, including environmental approval, potential agreements with Indigenous communities, and a move toward feasibility studies.
