Tempest Minerals Ltd (ASX:TEM) managing director Don Smith talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company’s current focus and upcoming milestones during the Resourcing Tomorrow 2025 conference.
Smith said the company is concentrating on two key areas — its gold exploration portfolio, which remains the primary focus, and a magnetite iron ore discovery that was first announced at the same event last year.
Discussing the Range Gold Project, Smith explained that Tempest Minerals has drilled along its boundary with Ramelius Resources, noting: "We've drilled right beside it and got comparable results to what was mined there, over 1.5km, in our project." Assay results have returned multiple meters at multiple grams across the project area, which Smith described as "really exciting."
He said the company is currently awaiting the outcome of a broader regional exploration program and is likely to follow up with additional drilling.
On the Remorse iron ore project, Smith said the company has released an exploration target of 100 million tonnes, with a resource of 60 million tonnes defined so far. He added that an adjacent outcrop may suggest the total mineralisation could approach 500 million tonnes of magnetite. Tempest has also signed an MoU with a Western Australian green steel developer, with further updates expected soon.
Smith also flagged that more gold assays are due and hinted at multiple corporate developments on the horizon.
