The ASX200 closed up on Wednesday, gaining 0.18 of a per cent.
Utilities and energy bucked the trend - both sectors shot up close to a per cent - whilst healthcare fell short - and shed around .8 of a per cent.

Amplia Therapeutics shot up after securing a major US patent for its FAK inhibitor narmafotinib, extending protection to at least 2040. The company says the grant strengthens its global IP portfolio as clinical development progresses.
Atomic Eagle was also up today on outlining a new exploration target at its Muntanga uranium project in Zambia, estimating a potential 40 to 100 million pounds of triuranium octoxide. The project remains underexplored, with results from maiden drilling expected in early 2026.

Perseus Mining fell short today despite lodging a binding offer to acquire all remaining Predictive Discovery shares at a 24.5% premium. The deal strengthens its African gold portfolio, with the Bankan Project set to become a major new growth asset.
Robex Resources also fell behind after Perseus Mining disrupted Robex’s planned merger with Predictive Discovery. The two Africa-focused miners had agreed in October to combine what they described as two of the largest and most advanced gold projects in West Africa.
