The S&P/ASX 200 closed higher on Wednesday, gaining 15.50 points, or 0.18%, to finish at 8,595.20. The top performers in the index were Boss Energy Ltd and Bellevue Gold Ltd, up 6.96% and 6.34% respectively. The benchmark was virtually unchanged over the past five days but is up 5.34% year to date.
The S&P/ASX Small Ordinaries Index ended at 3,691.60, up 6.70 points, or 0.18%, today, but down 19.90 points, or 0.54%, over the past five sessions.
