Renegade Exploration Ltd (ASX:RNX) has returned high-grade gold and silver results from recent field mapping and rock chip sampling at its Caisson Project in western Nevada, within a well-endowed gold-silver-copper district. Rock chip assays from the program have confirmed strongly mineralised zones and highlighted the project’s gold and silver potential.
Notable rock chip samples from the Caisson Project include:
- Sample 1069036: 50.8 g/t gold and 6.2 g/t silver
- Sample 1069035: 32.5 g/t gold and 5.1 g/t silver
Renegade has also identified two areas of porphyry copper-gold mineralisation, including:
- Sample 1069115: 1.45 g/t gold and 0.69% copper

“We have been in the field and, together with the previously reported results, are pleased with what we are seeing so far. The most recent rock chip and field programs undertaken have highlighted the potential for intrusive related Au-Ag deposits as well as possible porphyry-type Cu-Au mineralisation, similar in style to other deposits in the Yerington District such as the Ann Mason porphyry copper mine, which is encouraging," Renegade Exploration chairman Robert Kirtlan said.
"Based on these field results, field work was expanded to include a soils program which has confirmed the extent of the gold-silver and gold-copper prospects and provided strong encouragement for further exploration."
Well positioned project
Caisson lies within two highly endowed geological terrains:
1) The western Nevada Jurassic intrusive terrain hosting such world-class deposits as Anne Mason porphyry Cu-Au Mine (4.49 Mt Cu, 1.2 Moz Au), and the Pumpkin Hollow copper-gold skarn style mineralisation (3.5 Mt Cu, 1.1 Moz Au).
2) The western Nevada Walker Lane Trend (Miocene in age) which hosts world-class gold deposits such as Round Mountain (18.1 Moz Au, Kinross) and North Bullfrog (8.4 Moz Au, Anglogold Ashanti).
