Solis Minerals defines new copper targets at Cucho Project 

Solis Minerals Ltd (ASX:SLM, TSX-V:SLMN, OTCQB:SLMFF) has identified a suite of new copper targets at its Cucho Project in southern Peru after re-interpreting historical magnetic and induced polarisation data.

The work has highlighted multiple geophysical anomalies supported by encouraging surface geochemistry. The targets appear to form part of a deeply rooted porphyry copper–molybdenum system lying beneath known surface and near-surface mineralisation.

A drone-borne magnetic survey is planned for December 2025 to refine structural and magnetic features linked to mapped alteration and hydrothermal activity. This will run alongside an expanded surface geochemistry program. Community approvals are already in place, and drill permitting has begun ahead of a proposed diamond drilling campaign in 2026.

“We are excited by the results of new geophysical modelling at Cucho, which supports a number of highly prospective targets, defined by combinations of demagnetisation, elevated chargeability and conductivity, with elevated surface geochemistry,” Solis CEO Mitch Thomas, said.

Historical drilling hints at scale

Solis, which can earn up to a 75% interest in the Cucho Project and holds a seven-year option to acquire the remainder, says the project aligns with its strategy of targeting copper–gold systems capable of supporting large-scale mining operations in Peru’s coastal belt.

The project spans roughly 3,600 hectares and hosts an alteration–mineralisation footprint of about three by 1.8 kilometres, defined by copper–molybdenum geochemistry, surface mineralisation and strong induced polarisation chargeability responses.

Historical drilling in the central zone returned broad intervals of copper–molybdenum sulphide mineralisation from or near surface, including an intercept of 269.1.1 metres 0.25% copper and 0.011% molybdenum.

However, previous drilling tested only a small part of the broader geophysical system, and much of the anomaly remains untouched.

Geophysics highlights “Eastern Chargeable Body”

Reprocessing of magnetic, chargeability and resistivity datasets by Deep Sounding Exploration Geophysics has outlined several structural corridors along with a large “Eastern Chargeable Body” — a strong, deeply rooted chargeability feature open along strike and beyond 500 to 600 metres depth.

This zone is interpreted as a sulphide-rich shell potentially marking the upper levels of a porphyry system, with elevated total sulphur and pathfinder geochemistry at surface lending further support.

Next steps: drilling and further targeting

Solis is now designing a diamond drilling program to test the Eastern Chargeable Body along with other priority chargeability and conductivity anomalies.

Additional mapping, rock-chip and soil sampling programs are also planned, complemented by the upcoming drone-based magnetics survey to refine drill targeting.
