Medicus Pharma (NASDAQ:MDCX) announced that Carolyn Bonner, who currently serving as the company’s president, has been appointed to the role of chief financial officer (CFO).
Bonner has been acting CFO since September 12, filling the role during the medical leave of former finance chief Jim Quinlan, who has now resigned from the company for health reasons.
“Carolyn has been providing strong financial leadership since stepping in as acting CFO in September,” Medicus CEO Dr Raza Bokhari said. “Her appointment as CFO, in addition to president, enhances continuity, ensures stability and brings further alignment in our corporate objectives.”
Bonner has nearly two decades of experience in healthcare and life sciences, including executive roles in corporate development, operations and capital markets, Medicus highlighted.
Prior to joining Medicus, she was president and CEO of specialty laboratory PCL, and previously held business and corporate development roles at Rosetta Genomics and Inform Diagnostics.
In her combined role, Bonner will be responsible for financial reporting, capital markets strategy, treasury operations, budgeting and forecasting, while continuing to lead corporate planning and cross-functional clinical development initiatives.
“These combined responsibilities also bring operational and financial integration under a single leader as Medicus advances its clinical development programs and expands its clinical pipeline,” Bokhari added.
He also expressed his thanks to Quinlan for his role as a co-founder of Medicus. “Jim was mission critical in our reverse takeover of Skinject, Inc, as well as the company’s initial public offering in the US and listing on Nasdaq in November 2024,” Bokhari said.
