The S&P/ASX 200 eased 3.2 points on Friday to close at 8,614.10, with Eagers Automotive Limited and Suncorp Group Limited the weakest performers, down 3.72% and 3.57% respectively. Despite the modest pullback, the index is up 2.35% over the past five sessions and 5.58% year to date.
The S&P/ASX Small Ordinaries index added 30.70 points, or 0.83%, to finish at 3,722.30, taking its gain over the past five days to 158.10 points (4.44%).
