Standard Uranium Ltd (TSX-V:STND, OTCQB:STTDF) announced that it has received exploration permits for its Corvo uranium project which allow for high-resolution geophysical work and the company’s first drill program to take place on the property, scheduled to begin in January 2026.
MWH Geo-Surveys (Canada) has been contracted to conduct a ground gravity survey across more than 29 kilometers of conductive strike length.
The program is expected to include over 5,000 individual gravity measurement stations arranged on a 50-meter by 200-meter grid.
The results are intended to help locate density anomalies that may align with electromagnetic conductor trends considered prospective for uranium, according to Standard Uranium.
Once survey work is complete, Standard Uranium plans to carry out a skid-assisted diamond drilling program of approximately 3,000 meters during the winter of 2026.
The company stated this will be the first drilling campaign on the property in over four decades. Planned targets include the Manhattan Showing, an area the company reports has never been drilled, and with additional radioactive occurrences identified during recent field work.
Standard Uranium said previous outcrop grab samples collected at the Manhattan Showing returned assays up to 8.10% U₃O₈.
"The gravity survey now underway will further refine our target areas for drilling in Q1 2026," Standard Uranium president and VP exploration Sean Hillacre said in a statement.
"Layering the new density results with the EM data from the Xcite TDEM survey we completed earlier this year, in addition to the surficial geological information gathered during our prospecting program will provide multiple high-priority drill targets for our maiden drill campaign this winter."
The Corvo uranium project is under a three-year earn-in option agreement with Aventis Energy.
Earlier in 2025, Standard Uranium contracted Axiom Exploration Group and New Resolution Geophysics to complete a helicopter-borne Xcite time domain electromagnetic and magnetic survey over the project. The airborne program totaled roughly 1,380 line-kilometers, with 100-metre traverse spacing and 1,000-metre tie lines.
Standard Uranium reported that the data outlined several kilometers of conductive and magnetic features, refining the interpretation of more than 29 kilometers of trends on the property.
The company also completed its first prospecting and mapping campaign on the project in July 2025. Standard Uranium stated that sampling returned uranium values up to 59,800 ppm and revealed multiple areas of elevated radioactivity on surface. These results were incorporated into new drill targets and included in an NI 43-101 technical report filed on the property.
Standard Uranium has said it considers the Corvo property prospective for shallow, basement-hosted uranium mineralization. The project lies near the margin of the Athabasca Basin, where the company reports drill targets exist beneath limited overburden.
