Lightning Minerals Managing Director Alex Biggs talked with Proactive about the company’s recently completed $2.5 million capital raise, which will fund a phase two drilling campaign at the Mt Turner project in Queensland.
Biggs explained that all nine holes from the initial phase one campaign intersected gold mineralisation, marking an important confirmation of the geological model. “We intersected mineralization in all nine of those holes,” he said. “We’ve confirmed there’s gold there. We’ve confirmed the geological model and system. We understand that.”
The company has extended known mineralisation along the 14-kilometre Drummer Fault zone and reported notable results, including intersections over 20 metres at 2.4 grams per tonne, with higher-grade zones exceeding 10 grams per tonne at shallow depths.
Lightning Minerals is preparing for the second phase of drilling, which is set to begin in Q1 2026. The campaign will target down-dip extensions and new zones along strike, with the company also intending to test the copper-molybdenum porphyry system identified at Mt Turner.
Biggs emphasised the company's ability to move quickly, supported by clear targets and recent funding. “We will move quick. We always have done.”
