Markets in a Minute: Droneshield shines, West African Resources sinks

The ASX 200 closed up on Wednesday, gaining 0.81%.

Materias bucked the trend, the sector shot up just under 1.9 per cent, consumer discretionary followed, whilst IT and utilities fell behind.

Green

Droneshield was today's top stock - it shot up 8.5 per cent despite having no news.

Synertec was also up after securing a fresh contract with Shell QGC to deploy its renewable Powerhouse microgrid at a Surat Basin gas well.

Red

Temple & Webster was down on its sales growth. Despite an 18% lift from July to November, expectations by investors for H1 FY26 were higher.

West African Resources took a hit after a three-month trading halt. The drop follows government talks in Burkina Faso over a bigger stake in the Kiaka gold project.
