Ethics greenlight for Race Oncology lung study

Ethics greenlight for Race Oncology lung study

Race Oncology CEO Dr Daniel Tillett talked with Proactive about the company's latest progress in advancing RC220 through its HARNESS-1 Phase 1a/b trial for EGFR mutant lung cancer.

Dr Tillett confirmed that the St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne Human Research Ethics Committee has approved the trial, which combines RC220 (E,E-bisantrene, RCDS1) with AstraZeneca’s osimertinib (Tagrisso®). The study will assess safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who have activating EGFR mutations.

Patient recruitment is expected to begin at Monash Health as early as Q1 2026, with governance approvals currently pending.
