Peel Hunt has picked out an interesting detail for Accesso Technology Group PLC (LSE:ACSO, OTC:LOQPF) shareholders in the latest shake-up at Six Flags, the US theme-park group that remains the UK company’s biggest customer.
Six Flags has appointed John Reilly as its new chief executive, effective 8 December, after what it describes as a “robust succession planning process”.
The move comes after a bumpy year for the operator, including several profit warnings and the arrival of activist investor Jana Partners, which disclosed a 9% stake in October as part of a push for a turnaround. Jana has already given the appointment its public blessing, saying it “applauds” the choice.
What matters for Accesso is Reilly himself. According to Peel Hunt, the company has known him “for a long time”, enjoys a “solid relationship” with him and sees the change as good news.
In a sector where major-client stability is often as important as new contract wins, that familiarity could offer a degree of comfort.
Six Flags still has plenty to fix, but for Accesso, whose technology is embedded in the operator’s parks, a chief executive who already understands the business and the partnership is a helpful development rather than another variable to worry about.
