RC Fornax hits 'important milestone' with new space-sector win

Cavendish has labelled RC Fornax PLC's (AIM:RCFX) latest contract award an “important milestone”, after the defence-focused contractor secured its first major success in a UK public-sector tender.

The framework agreement, won through competitive bidding, puts the company in charge of a consortium of four specialist UK and European partners for a space-sector project.

The initial value is £370,000 over six months. That is modest, but the structure of the deal means follow-on work is possible if the early phases land well, the broker pointed out.

RCF will also retain full ownership of any intellectual property developed under the programme, a useful feature for a business looking to build longer-term commercial opportunities rather than simply supplying bodies to projects.

Cavendish says the win “shows commercial traction” and strengthens RC Fornax’s position as an integrator of small and medium-sized firms in the public supply chain.

There is no change to forecasts, which were updated after the £2.3 million placing earlier this month.

Cavendish sees a sizeable opportunity in defence procurement as customers look for faster, more flexible delivery.

It also flags the group’s AI-driven Procure X system as a potential future source of intellectual property and revenue. The broker keeps its 50p target price, compared with a share price of 6p, up 3% on the day.
