Proactive news summary, including Seeing Machines, Madagascar Oil, Metal Tiger and Minera

A busy news day included releases from oilers and tech firms.

A busy news day included releases from oilers and tech firms.

Seeing Machines (LON:SEE) shares were lifted after the operator monitoring specialist said its alliance with mining equipment giant Caterpillar had seen significant mining sales deals struck for the firm's technology in Australia and Canada.

The sales of DSS to new and existing clients by Caterpillar dealers augurs well for Seeing Machine's fourth quarter, the group said.

Elsewhere, Madagascar Oil (LON:MOIL) has now submitted an environmental impact assessment for the initial phase of the Tsimiroro field development.

The submission to Madagascar’s Office Nationale de l'Environnement (O.N.E.) comes after the government approved the project’s development plan in April.

MOIL highlights that the EIA is significant as it is the first ever petroleum exploitation EIA to be conducted in Madagascar.

Switching direction, Accesso Technology (LON:ACSO), the virtual queuing specialist, said Malaysia’s newest theme Park has now signed on the dotted line as a customer.

The five-year deal with Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS) to install accesso’s smartphone-based queuing solution, Qsmart follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding in the first half of last year.

The theme Park will feature more than 40 rides, shows and attractions, including the world’s first dedicated zone to the film studio DreamWorks.

Specialist engineering group Hayward Tyler (LON:HAYT) had results out today , which showed revenue and profits last year were a shade ahead of expectations.

Revenue in the year to end March, 2015 rose 13% to £48.6mln from £43.2mln the year before, eclipsing the consensus forecast of £48mln.

The group saw a significant increase in both original equipment sales and after-market revenues, and 88% of revenue was generated from customers based outside of the UK.

Power remained the group’s largest target market, accounting for 59% of revenue, up from 51% the previous year. Nuclear was the next largest market (20% vs 16% in 2013/4) while the hard-pressed oil & gas sector’s contribution to revenues declined to just 8% from 18% the year before.

Adjusted profit before tax was up 17% to £4.7mln from £4.0mln the year before, versus a consensus forecast of £4.6mln.

In mining, Metal Tiger (LON:MTR) has raised £300,000 to take advantage of opportunities in the cash-strapped natural resources sector, it said.

The AIM-quoted natural resources investor placed 33mln shares at a price of 0.9p per share, just over a 10% discount to yesterday’s close.

Cameron Parry, chief executive said: “The availability of numerous opportunities and the sensible commercial terms that can be negotiated reflects the limited

Minera IRL (LON:MIRL) sold more than 26,500 ounces of gold during year ending December 31, 2014, generating revenue of US$29.9mln and a gross profit of US$6.8mln.

As ever, the production came from the company’s small Corihuarmi mine in the Peruvian Andes which, even after long service, remains an integral part of the Minera operations.

The cash generated from Corihuarmi has long provided the company with a bulwark against the worst excesses of the capital markets as it seeks slowly and deliberately to put a funding package in place for the much larger Ollachea gold project, also in Peru.

Sticking to the mining theme, Goldstone Resources (LON:GRL) intends to drill two targets at its Homase/ Akrokerri deposit in Ghana following its recent auger sampling.

The explorer received £1.25mln when fellow gold junior Stratex International (LON:STI) took a 33.45% stake last year.

That has given it enough cash to fund its exploration in Ghana until the end of the year.

The two anomalies lie to the southwest of the current resource on a continuation of the structural trend linking Akrokerri with Anglogold’s nearby Obuasi mine.

Goldstone added its strategy now is to focus on delineating additional near surface, oxide resources, which can be processed on a simple heap leach.
