Purepoint Uranium Group Inc (TSX-V:PTU, OTCQX:PTUUF) President & CEO Chris Frostad talked with Proactive at the latest One2One Investor Forum about the uranium market's unique characteristics and the company's active exploration efforts in Canada’s Athabasca Basin.
Frostad began by explaining the uranium market structure, describing it as very opaque with most trades occurring off-market through long-term contracts. “It’s very illiquid...and it will jump around a lot as a result of that,” he said, highlighting the challenges investors face in linking spot prices to actual demand.
He then discussed Purepoints' joint ventures with Cameco and Orano, and its ability to maintain low dilution while advancing multiple promising properties. Frostad clarified: “We are an exploration company… we do not have a resource that we're moving forward.”
Key projects discussed include Hook Lake, Smart Lake, and a district-wide joint venture with ISO Energy. Notably, Frostad shared the company’s recent success at Dorado, where drilling encountered “2% to 5% to 8% uranium, which is again, unheard of.” The company plans to follow up this discovery with a $6 million budget allocated for the upcoming winter program.
